The first time I heard the name Cory Booker I thought he was some celebrity that I didn’t know. As it turns out he is certainly a celebrity, just not your typical celebrity. I watched him on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” I then got to know him a little better from listening to Gayle King speak so highly of him as her friend. When I started tweeting one of the first people I followed was @CoryBooker
Cory Booker is not just another pretty face. Although he is quite handsome. He is the current Mayor of Newark, New Jersey. It is evident when he speaks that he is well educated. He holds degrees from Stanford, Oxford and Yale Law School. However that isn’t what will stand out when watching him tonight on Oprah’s Next Chapter. What will stand out is his one of a kind personality, charm and his love of his City and it’s people.
I have been following his career for over five years and I have to say that there are not many political people who impress me as much as Mr. Booker. How many Mayor’s are out shovellling snow for people in their cities who can’t do it themselves.? How many Mayor’s are tweeting people on how to find jobs in their City? Well follow Cory Booker on Twitter and you will see why I think he is an amazing human being. He walk’s the talk!
Tune into Oprah’s Next Chapter tonight and see a man with great character, integrity, charisma and compassion. Keep in mind that these rave reviews are coming from a Canadian. I can’t help but wonder the change we would see in this world if all of our Town’s and Cities had a Mayor like Cory Booker.
